The Sun StorEdge L3500 incorporates the highly reliable, high-performance Sun StorEdgeTM DLTTM 7000 tape drive for even faster data transfer - 5 MB/sec per drive.
What's more, the Sun StorEdge L3500 includes the IntelliGrip Cartridge Handing System, designed to accurately load and unload cartridges without relying on the slot or drive surface to guide them. IntelliGrip suspends the cartridge away from these surfaces, eliminating wear contaminants from the cartridge and drive receiver area, and doing away with a major source of drive downtime.
Management of the data is easy with support from more than 40 storage management applications, including VERITAS NetBackup and Sun SolsticeTM BackupTM software. They provide data protection, reduce administration costs, minimize backup time, and unify storage management.
Included is Sun StorEdgeTM LibMONTM software, which utilizes a JavaTM Web browser for monitoring and administration. LibMON provides event logging and notification, remote diagnostics, and remote monitoring of library activity and status.
